FAQs

Why the name change in 2023?

Taylors had always made the crisps you found in Mackie’s Crisps bags. After a long and happy partnership with Mackie’s, we agreed a buy-out of the snacks business and re-entered the market with our own family name and branding. Our pals at Mackie’s continue to make their amazing ice cream and chocolate.

Are you still doing Scotch Bonnet crisps?

Yes indeed, but they’re now called ‘Chilli Kick’. Just as tasty, and just as hot!

Are you still doing Haggis crisps?

Fret not lassies and lads, our Haggis & Cracked Black Pepper crisps will be part of our seasonal range, which will be available in the winter months each year (December – March). And also available to buy via our website or Amazon, all-year-round (whilst stocks last).

Are your snacks vegan-friendly?

Many of them are, yes! Here’s a full list of all the products we offer, which are suitable for a vegan diet: Taylors Pickled Onion (straight cut crisps), Taylors Sea Salt & Vinegar (straight cut crisps), Taylors Sea Salt (straight cut crisps), Taylors Lightly Sea Salted (ridge cut crisps), Taylors Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar (ridge cut crisps), Taylors Hot Buffalo Wings (ridge cut crisps), Taylors Thai Sweet Chilli (ridge cut crisps), Taylors Lightly Salted Popcorn and Taylors Sweet & Salted Popcorn.

Do you make gluten-free snacks?

Unfortunately, our crisps and lentil waves are NOT gluten free. However, our range of popcorn is, and we label this clearly on the packaging.

What’s this seasonal thing about!? Why not all flavours year round?

We’ll keep a very close eye on the popularity of all our flavours, and can make changes to the line up accordingly. If there’s enough demand certain seasonal flavours may well become regulars!

For example, our Haggis flavour tends to fly off the shelves during the winter months – so, any time from October – March. It’s particularly popular during bonfire season, Christmas, New Year and around Burns Night (end Jan). That’s when it’s most likely to be readily available.

I live in [insert your location here!] and can’t find these crisps – where can I get them?

We have a list of the major retailers across Scotland who stock Taylors products in the ‘Where to buy’ section of this site.

We’ll also shortly be selling all of our crisps online, via our site – you’ll be able to stock up on your favourite flavours at the click of a button (or two!)

When will these crisps be coming south of the border!?

Our plan is to make Taylors crisps as widely available as possible. In the meantime, you’ll shortly be able to stock up on your favourite flavours at Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores in Scotland.
